The U13 and U14 Squads recently travelled to Bournemouth for an overnight stay before the regional round of The National Junior Championships.
This was the first time that Kent clubs had been put into the South Region Tournament instead of the London and South East Region competition
in Essex . There were too many clubs entered for the Essex venue so England Netball put the Kent Clubs into the South Region at short notice,
without consultation, and despite protests would not make any changes.
The U13s played well in their round robin group of seven clubs, with 3 wins, 2 draws and only 1 loss, qualifying for the play offs. In
the quarter finals they met Bath and after a close first half showed tremendous team spirit and determination to eventually win 11-7.
Congratulations to the U13s who, by finishing in the top four in South Region, have qualified for The National Junior Finals on July
9th at Manchester Velodrome.
Telstars U14s played some good netball to finish second in their round robin group of seven clubs with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. There
were three groups so the three second placed teams had to play a round robin to find the winner who would qualify for The National Finals.
In the first game we played Jersey who were a strong side and won 9-2. The second game against Medway Panthers was an exciting draw 8-8
but Jersey went on to win the group by defeating Panthers.
