U14's show their class

Telstars' U14 team have had an amazing season and it's not over yet. They won the County League without losing a match, no mean achievement in such a highly competitive atmosphere. Then, at the end of the season, they reinforced their superiority by winning the end of season tournament.

Today, they surpassed this achievement by finishing second in the regional prelims for the National U14 Clubs Tournament and will be heading to Wolverhampton on May 16th to compete for a place in the National Club Finals at Loughborough on May 30th.

Having lost two matches at the beginning of the tournament, Telstars assumed they had lost the opportunity to go through and proceeded to play the girls in versatility roles for the remaining matches, winning each one as they went. Unbeknown to them, other teams had also lost their games and so it was all down to the last matches of the tournament. Telstars versus Sabina. Sabina had at this stage won all their games and Telstars were determined not to let them go out without atleast one loss. The final score was 7-6 to Telstars in what was a nail biting encounter. Results of other matches being played at the same time meant that Sabina and Telstars will represent the region at the next stage of the tournament.

Well done to both Telstars and Sabina, it is great to see two Kent teams go forward and good luck to both of you in Wolverhampton.
